Scraping Trim
Summer projects includes painting, siding and updating of steps. A new side entry door and storm will be installed that is needed to correct damage done by the realtor trying to open the deadbolt.
Peak trims have been scraped and will be painted soon. Look for further updates throughout the summer as projects are started and completed

When we purchased the house the living room was in very bad shape. The wall that currently holds our bookshelves had three very large holes that looked as if they had been kicked or punched. Two of them went completely into one of the bedrooms.
As with much of the house most rooms had wallpaper borders that was pretty outdated. A real shame was the fact that the carpet pictured was ruined by the previous owners leaving animals in the house alone. Urine spots were found in the corners which in turn required complete carpet and pad removal. Two gallons of Zizner primer was used to paint the floor to help remove and mask the Oder. When removing the carpet over 100 spots were discovered where pet urine was present. Floor was completely washed with white vinegar and liquid dish washing detergent with warm water and then allowed to dry before applying primer. Worked like a charm . I will add that special attention was paid to the areas that showed being wet in the past.
After removing all the wall paper border a good cleaning was applied to all surfaces before a fresh coat of paint. 
A light sandalwood color was applied to two of walls and with a darker accent color being applied to one. The book case wall is painted Eggplant which is a very deep purple and extends one wall of the hallway.
New windows were installed in the entire house in August of 2008. Some minor updates are planned for the living room in winter of 2009/2010 but mostly just cosmetic stuff like window treatments and a fresh coat of paint.

PROJECT: Bathroom Makeover
This is how the main bathroom upstairs appeared when we purchased the house. Why someone would use such dark colors in a room this smail is beyound me.
The Blue tile really dates the room! This makeover was to be a winter 08 project but a leak at the window caused the rear wall to crumble and moved our planned dates way ahead.
Now that the new windows have been installed I finally can get restarted on this area. We have thanked God everyday that we have the bath and shower in the basement.
Plans for this area our as stated above. Simply new tile, new vinyl and paint. Tub, Toilet and vanity are all in good shape although a new vanity or at least a new top (sink) may come into the picture. I’ll continue this topic as I progress…….
